Preventive Maintenance Contracts for Gym Equipment
Fitness equipment is like a car: it needs regular servicing to stay safe and reliable and to last. Planned preventive maintenance finds small problems before they become breakdowns, keeps equipment looking presentable, and reduces the risk of injury from worn parts. Nordic Fitness offers scheduled maintenance contracts for commercial gym equipment in Perth, regional Western Australia and remote sites, including mine sites.
What a maintenance visit covers
Each visit is tailored to your equipment, and typically includes:
- Treadmills: cleaning under the motor cover and around the belt and deck, checking belt alignment and tension, deck lubrication where the design requires it, and checking belts for wear.
- Bikes and cross trainers: checking and tightening cranks, pedals, handlebars, seats and adjustment points, and inspecting drive and resistance systems.
- Strength machines: inspecting cables, pulleys, belts and fasteners, checking weight stacks and guide rods, and lubricating where required.
- Racks, rigs and benches: checking fixings, pins, J-hooks, safeties and upholstery.
- Reporting: a detailed report of the work performed and any parts or repairs recommended.
How often?
The right frequency depends on how heavily your equipment is used. Many commercial facilities choose three or four visits per year. Very busy gyms and remote sites may benefit from a different schedule. We'll recommend a frequency when we quote.
Why preventive maintenance matters
- Less downtime: equipment stays in service and members aren't greeted by out-of-order signs.
- Longer equipment life: regular cleaning, adjustment and lubrication reduce wear.
- Safety: worn treadmill belts, frayed cables and loose fixings are found and fixed.
- Better budgeting: scheduled servicing and reporting help you plan replacements, rather than reacting to failures.
Between visits
Staff can help keep equipment in good condition with a simple routine: wipe down equipment after use with antibacterial gym wipes, vacuum around and under cardio equipment, and report unusual noises or faults early. Our maintenance procedures guide explains the basics, and we stock silicone lubricant, replacement cables and spare parts.
Equipment we maintain
We maintain treadmills, exercise bikes, cross trainers, home gyms, selectorised and plate-loaded machines, and strength and weight training equipment. That includes brands we supply, such as Jerai, Circle, Body-Solid and Venom, and most other makes and models (excluding NordicTrack).
